Route Guide
Manhattan to JFK Routes: Van Wyck vs Belt vs RFK
Updated April 2026
Three primary routes from Manhattan to JFK: Van Wyck Expressway via Midtown Tunnel + LIE (default off-peak), Belt Parkway via Brooklyn Bridge + BQE (rush hour alternative), RFK Triborough via 125th Street + Grand Central Parkway (Upper East/West Side specific). Noble dispatch chooses based on real-time conditions.
Van Wyck Expressway (I-678)
From Midtown: Midtown Tunnel ($10.17 toll EZ-Pass) → Long Island Expressway → Van Wyck Expressway directly to JFK. 35-50 min off-peak. Rush hour: Van Wyck is one of the most congested arteries in the country during 4-7 PM weekday peaks; expect 60-90 min. Friday before holidays: 90-120 min.
Belt Parkway via Brooklyn Bridge
From Lower Manhattan/SoHo/Tribeca: Brooklyn Bridge (free) → BQE → Belt Parkway → Cross Bay Boulevard → JFK. 40-60 min off-peak. Often faster than Van Wyck during weekday rush since Belt Parkway is parkway-grade and avoids Manhattan-Queens tunnel/bridge backups.
Williamsburg Bridge → BQE
From East Village/Lower East Side/Chinatown: Williamsburg Bridge (free) → BQE → Belt Parkway. Similar timing to Brooklyn Bridge route, slightly better for east-Manhattan origins.
RFK Triborough Bridge
From Upper East Side/Upper West Side/Harlem: RFK Triborough Bridge → Grand Central Parkway → Van Wyck. 45-65 min off-peak. The fastest Upper Manhattan to JFK route despite the Triborough toll ($10.17).
