Etiquette Guide
Black Car Service Etiquette
Updated April 2026
Black car service has its own quiet professionalism — chauffeurs are not Uber drivers, and the dynamic is closer to a hotel concierge than a rideshare app. A few small etiquette norms make the experience smoother for both sides.
Greeting
Chauffeur opens the door and greets you by name. A simple "hi" back and confirming the destination is sufficient. No need to shake hands; not expected.
Seating
Single passenger: rear right seat (behind the front passenger seat) is the conventional executive seat. Couples: rear bench. Front seat is acceptable for chatty, daytime trips but uncommon for executive transport. For First Class SUV with privacy partition: passengers always sit in the rear cabin.
Conversation
Chauffeurs follow your lead. If you initiate conversation, expect friendly engagement. If you put on headphones or open a laptop, the chauffeur stays quiet. Silent rides are normal and not awkward — chauffeurs are trained to read context.
Music & Climate
Always feel free to request music change, volume adjustment, or temperature change. Bluetooth audio is available in all Noble vehicles — connect your phone if you prefer your own playlist. Climate control is dual-zone in First Class vehicles.
Food & Drink
Drinks are fine — water is provided, and bringing aboard your own coffee or alcohol is welcome (legal-age passengers only). Hot food with strong odors is technically fine but considered impolite for executive transport; the chauffeur won't object but the next passenger may notice. Ask before bringing pizza.
Tipping
Standard 18% gratuity is included in Noble flat rates booked online — no additional tip required. Cash $5-20 for excellent service is appreciated but not expected. See tipping guide.
End of Ride
Chauffeur opens the door and assists with luggage. A "thank you" is sufficient. No need to wait for the chauffeur to drive off before walking inside.
