Manhattan to Hamptons Car Service Rates

Manhattan to Hamptons car service is $595 flat in a Business Sedan and $795 in a Business SUV to the Southampton-through-Amagansett corridor, with the Queens-Midtown Tunnel toll, taxes, and standard gratuity inside the number. First Class vehicles — the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the Cadillac Escalade ESV — run $895. The rate is per vehicle, not per person, so four friends in an SUV pay less each than four Jitney seats with none of the stops. Montauk pricing and drive detail lives on the NYC to Montauk page.

NYC to Hamptons Drive Times by Departure Hour

The route barely changes; the clock changes everything. From Manhattan it is the Queens-Midtown Tunnel onto the Long Island Expressway (I-495) to Exit 70 at Manorville, then County Road 111 south to Sunrise Highway (Route 27), which narrows into the two-lane Montauk Highway through the villages. The two chronic chokepoints are the LIE eastbound between Exits 49-57 and the single-lane crawl on Route 27 through Water Mill and Bridgehampton — a Friday-afternoon queue there can add an hour by itself.

Weekday before 7 AM2 h - 2 h 20LIE empty; Route 27 villages clear

According to the MTA, the Long Island Rail Road is the busiest commuter railroad in North America, and its seasonal Cannonball express is the fastest train to the East End — an honest alternative for a solo traveler with one bag. The car wins when the trip involves luggage for a week, a dog crate, a 6 AM Saturday tee time, or a house group splitting one flat rate to their own front door. The flat also means a 5-hour Friday costs exactly what a 2.5-hour Tuesday costs.

How Does a Private Car Compare to the Jitney, the LIRR, and a Helicopter?

Four ways east, four different trades. The coach is cheapest, the train is fastest on summer Fridays, the helicopter is fastest full stop, and the private car is the only one that goes from your lobby to your rental's driveway with the trunk doing the carrying.

OptionHow it worksThe catch
Noble black car$595 sedan / $795 SUV flat, door-to-door, your schedule, 2-3 h off-peakSits in the same Friday traffic as everyone — leave early
Hamptons Jitney / AmbassadorScheduled coach from Manhattan stops to village stops; cheapest comfortable optionFixed stops and timetable, luggage limits, and you still need a ride from the stop
LIRR (Cannonball in summer)Summer-Friday express from Penn Station; the fastest rail ride to the East EndPenn Station with bags, seasonal schedule, taxi scrum at the village station
Helicopter / seaplane~40 minutes in the air; unbeatable on timeWeather-dependent, strict luggage limits, and a ground transfer on both ends anyway

Plenty of regulars mix them: fly out Friday, and book the Noble Black Car Service SUV for the Sunday return when the bags have multiplied and the helicopter weather window has closed. Whichever way out, the car is the leg that carries the luggage.

When Should You Book a Manhattan to Hamptons Car Service?

Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, book at least 48-72 hours ahead for any Hamptons departure — that is the floor, not the ideal. The pressure windows are sharper: summer Friday pickups after 2 PM and Sunday-evening returns sell through 1-2 weeks out, and the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Vans are always the first inventory to clear because every share house and wedding block wants the same six Saturdays. July 4th week is the earliest sellout on the calendar every year.

  • Memorial Day-Labor Day, any day: 48-72 hours minimum advance booking.
  • Summer Fridays after 2 PM & Sunday-evening returns: 1-2 weeks ahead; July 4th and Labor Day weekends, 2+ weeks.
  • Wedding blocks and Sprinter Vans: reserve the date as soon as invitations go out — vans clear first.
  • October-April: 24 hours of notice is genuinely enough; the East End empties out.

Timing strategy beats booking strategy, though: a 7 AM Friday or 8 AM Saturday departure saves two full hours over a 4 PM Friday one, at the same $595. Book both legs at once — the return flat is identical, and a confirmed Sunday car out of East Hampton in August is worth more than the reservation costs.

Pickup Logistics in Manhattan

Hamptons departures are luggage-heavy, so the pickup is built around loading: your chauffeur arrives ahead of the confirmed time, stages at your building's curb or the nearest legal cross-street — the practical move on narrow West Village blocks — and loads duffels, coolers, strollers, and the case of wine while you finish getting the family downstairs. Doorman buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues, brownstone stoops in the Village, office towers in Midtown for the straight-from-work Friday escape: all standard, all door-to-door across Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Picking up two households — one in SoHo, one on the Upper East Side? Note the second stop when you book and dispatch builds it into the schedule before the tunnel. Landing at JFK and heading straight east is also common in summer: airport-to-Hamptons direct is quoted on request and includes flight tracking and a baggage-claim meet — see JFK car service for how arrivals work.

Sedan, SUV, or Sprinter for the Hamptons?

A couple with weekend bags: the Business Sedan at $595 is exactly right. A family or share-house crew of four to six with beach gear: the Business SUV at $795 — six seats, six bags, and room for the soft stuff, which is why it is the most-booked vehicle on this route all summer. The First Class Sedan ($895, Mercedes-Benz S-Class) turns the 2.5-hour ride into a working office or a nap; the First Class SUV ($895, Cadillac Escalade ESV) does it for a group.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van (10-14 passengers) is the wedding and full-house machine — Wölffer Estate in Sagaponack, private-estate receptions in Water Mill, and North Fork winery loops all run on it; packages are on the wedding transport page. Fewer than seven people? Skip the van — an SUV or two sedans is cheaper and more flexible. Every tier is compared on the fleet page, and rates across all routes on pricing.

How to Book a Manhattan to Hamptons Car

  1. 1Reserve at nobleblackcarservice.com/book or call (888) 503-4449 with your Manhattan pickup address, Hamptons destination, date, and departure time — in summer, do it 48-72 hours ahead at minimum.
  2. 2Choose the vehicle: Business Sedan ($595), Business SUV ($795), or First Class ($895) — compare cabins on the fleet page.
  3. 3Add the return leg and any second pickup stop in the same reservation; the Sunday car out of East Hampton is the one you will be glad you locked.
  4. 4Receive instant confirmation; your chauffeur's name and cell number arrive before pickup, and the flat rate on the confirmation is final — Friday traffic included.
